Cone Beam :

State of the art digital volumetric tomography.

Very small field size, therefore high resolution. Radiation dose equivalent to that of an OPG.

  • implant planning,
  • locating unerupted teeth,
  • inferior alveolar nerve localisation for third molar extraction,
  • TMJs,
  • Endodontic Applications,
  • Determining nature and extent of tooth/jaw related pathology.

OPG :

  • 1.3x (standard)
  • 1.7x

The Scanora has long been considered the "gold standard" in panoramic imaging. Its 1.7x magnification image is an excellent method for demonstrating periodontal bone levels and general dental assessment. The field size is marginally smaller than that of the 1.3x magnification resulting in a slight decrease in radiation dose. It must be stressed that the 1.7x magnification does not show TMJs.

Ceph :

Care is taken to protect patient from unnecessary primary and secondary radiation. A lead collimator is placed over the tube port to limit the primary beam to the required image area. All Cephalometric imaging is carried out using a 1.12 magnification, however this can be varied if required.

Good soft tissue visualisation is provided.

Intra-oral :

All intra oral views taken including occusals, bitewings and periapicals.

TMJs :

Using Cone Beam 3D tomography, scans can be taken to assess function and/or pathology. Functional views can be provided to suit your requirements. The image is reconstructed digitally, so that examination is corrected to suit the individual condylar angle.
