What you should know

• All X-ray examinations require a referral written by a qualified dentist or doctor.
• Please bring the referral slip with you or arrange to have it faxed to us. It is a legal document contains the essential information needed before the examination can proceed.
• Payment is required at the time of examinations.
• Payment can be made by EFTPOS, cash of cheque. We accept all major credit cards except Diners.
• Payment is required for cone beam examinations
• Most examinations are bulk billed. For those which are not, a Medicare rebate can be claimed.

Medicare Claims

Medicare is located behind St Michael's church on the corner of Little Collins and Russell Street, and can be accessed via the laneway between St Michael's and the Bluescope building in Collins Street.

Radiation Dose

Every effort is made to avoid any unecessary patient exposure to radiation. Patients are given a lead apron for all dental examinations to reduce scattered radiation exposure. Where possible, the use of state of the art equipment delivers extremely low levels of radiation, thus providing and even greater margin of safety.
